1. About the Service

The Service provides a quiet reading room for sharing the time you spend with paper books.

As a proof of concept, features may be added, changed, or discontinued, and data may be reset without notice.

2. Accounts

You can use the Service without an account (as a guest). If you create an account, you are responsible for the email address and password you register.

If you suspect unauthorized access, please reset your password.

3. Prohibited conduct

The following are prohibited: violating laws or public order, interfering with the operation of the Service, using display names that distress other readers, and unauthorized access or reverse engineering.

4. Paid plan

Some features of the Service — editing and presets for room furnishings, larger rooms (6 and 10 seats), making a room public, and weekly standing sessions — belong to the paid "Owner" plan. Prices and contents are shown on the pricing page and on the purchase screen. Whether you purchase on the web or in the iOS app, the paid features are available to the same account.

For web purchases, the seller is the operator. Payments are processed by Stripe, and subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat. For purchases made inside the iOS app, the seller is Apple, and their payment, refunds and cancellation follow Apple’s terms. When someone outside Japan purchases on the web, Stripe (Link, LLC) becomes the merchant of record through Stripe Managed Payments, and Stripe calculates, collects and remits the local tax. For purchases within Japan, the operator remains the seller.

The paid plan renews automatically every month. You are charged at sign-up and on each renewal date. You can cancel at any time; billing stops from the next renewal. After cancelling, you keep access to paid features until the end of the current period.

No pro-rated refunds are given for mid-period cancellations. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable law. We do handle refunds individually for a double charge, and for any period the service was effectively unusable because of a failure on our side. Refunds for purchases made inside the iOS app are handled by Apple, under Apple’s terms.

If a payment cannot be confirmed, the operator may suspend paid features. If prices change, we will announce the change in advance and apply it from the next renewal.

The viewing (trial) period starts without a card and never converts to a paid subscription automatically.

Cancelling never deletes anything by itself: your account, reading time, book covers, and room furnishings and settings all remain, and rooms within the free tier stay usable. Paid-feature settings are preserved and return when you resubscribe. Handling of data during the proof-of-concept stage is governed by Section 1.

Deleting your account and cancelling the paid plan are separate procedures. Please cancel the paid plan before deleting your account.

5. Disclaimer

The Service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

For damages arising from use of the Service, except in cases of intent or gross negligence, the operator is liable only for direct and ordinary damages actually incurred, up to the amount you paid for the Service in the most recent one month.

6. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be changed when the change serves the general interest of users, or when it is consistent with the purpose of the contract and is necessary and reasonable in content.

For significant changes, we will announce the content and the effective date in advance, for example by posting on this page. Using the Service on or after the effective date constitutes agreement to the changed Terms.
